FENG SHUI PRACTICES - Energy Movement
Feng Shui (pronounced either fung shway or fun soy) is interrelated with ancient and modern Asian practices of martial arts and healing techniques. Many of us here in Canada are training in practices that involve the movement of energy (Qi, prana) through the body, mind and spaces around us. We also enroll our children in programs that include Karate, Jujitsu, Taoist Tai Qi, Kick Boxing, Qi Gong, and Yoga. And many of us have utilized the services of a Traditional Chinese Medical Doctor who practices acupuncture, moxibustion and cupping.
All these sports and medical techniques involve the notion of the movement of Qi or energy through the body, mind and spirit. Training and strengthening of the mind and body is related to Feng Shui. A pure, clear mind will result in a harmonious, balanced and peaceful living and working space. A supple, energized well-toned body through exercise will simultaneously help one create a healthy, vital, and creative living and working space.
Here are some free Feng Shui tips for everyone that connect mind, body and home:
- Look deep into yourself and don’t be afraid to do so! That is the only way to develop and change in a beneficial way. Be honest with yourself – you deserve truth and awareness.
- Open your palms, close your eyes and reach your arms up and out, as though you are waiting to be picked up or embraced. (This is necessary for unifying your soul with the universe).
- Imagine the energy radiating from your heart, your lungs, your palms and that the energy is touching everything in its path.
- Beam the energy away from you, sending it into the farthest corners of the universe.
- Repeat this mantra: “I am open to positive change in any form it takes."
Once you are positive about accepting changes in your life, Feng Shui is there to help you in whatever you do. Feng Shui is about getting you back into the driver’s seat of your life, it is about accepting responsibility for yourself and your actions.
